Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Harry Theoharis’ visit to Moldova (Chisinau, 31.07.2025)

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Harry Theoharis held a series of high-level meetings in Chisinau, Moldova, as part of efforts to strengthen bilateral relations and support the country’s European trajectory.

The Deputy Minister met with Moldova’s Minister of Finance, Victoria Belous, with whom he discussed economic developments in both countries, as well as the potential for providing Greek expertise in the area of tax reform. In particular, they explored the possible contribution of the Greek Ministry of Finance and the Hellenic Corporation of Assets and Participations (HCAP). Mr. Theocharis emphasized Greece’s readiness to actively assist in this field.

A meeting of particular importance was held with Moldova’s two Deputy Prime Ministers: the Minister of Economic Development and Digitalization, Doina Nistor, and the Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development, Vladimir Bolea.

During the meetings, they also explored opportunities for Greek companies to participate in high-priority projects for Moldova, especially in the sectors of logistics, transportation and industrial development.

Deputy Minister Theoharis' trip was prepared as a follow-up to contacts he had with Moldovan officials during the recent Economist conference, where both the challenges and opportunities for closer cooperation between the two countries were highlighted.
