Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, responsible for European Affairs, Tasos Chatzivasileiou, travelled to Strasbourg on Monday, 14 September 2026, for a two-day working visit to attend the European Parliament’s Plenary Session.
The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs met with the President of the European Parliament, Roberta Metsola, as well as with the Secretary-General of the European Parliament, Alessandro Chiocchetti.
Furthermore, he met and exchanged views with the Chair of the European Parliament’s Committee on Security and Defence, Marie-Agnes Strack-Zimmermann, as well as with senior officials of the European People’s Party and the European Green Party.
The visit forms part of the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs’ programme of regular visits and contacts in the context of Greece’s preparations for assuming the Presidency of the Council of the European Union in the second half of 2027.
