Joint Workshop of the Hellenic Diplomatic Academy and the Postgraduate Program "Digital Transformation: e-Diplomacy, e-Campaigning and Digital Law" of Panteion University (27.02.2026)

Within the framework of the implementation of the Memorandum of Cooperation between the Hellenic Diplomatic Academy (HDA) and the Postgraduate Program "Digital Transformation: e-Diplomacy, e-Campaigning and Digital Law" of Panteion University of Social and Political Sciences, a joint workshop entitled “Cyberdiplomacy Initiatives and Global Governance” was held on Friday, 27 February, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The workshop aimed to strengthen the academic – diplomatic dialogue on issues of digital governance and international law. The Program’s postgraduate students and the candidate Embassy Attachés examined initiatives — both within and outside the United Nations — for the regulation of cyberspace, assessing their respective advantages and shortcomings. Participants focused on the application of the principles of international law to specific hypothetical scenarios, thereby enhancing critical thinking and fostering the connection between theory and practice.

The keynote speaker and moderator of the discussion was Professor Nicholas Tsagourias of the School of Law, University of Sheffield. Introductory remarks were delivered by the HDA Director, Ambassador Michael Diamessis, and the Director of the postgraduate Program, Professor Vassilis Hatzopoulos. The HDA Director of Studies, Ambassador Michail Angelopoulos, as well as Associate Professor Maria-Daniella Marouda and Dr. George Anepsiou, also attended.
