A Memorandum of Understanding was signed at the Ambassador’s Residence in London on 16 October 2025, between the Secretary General for Greeks Abroad and Public Diplomacy, Ms. Maira Myrogianni, the Chair of the Crafting Greece Task Force, Ms. Dimitra Kolotoura, and the Deputy Chief Executive of The King’s Foundation, Ms. Emily Cherrington.
The signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between Crafting Greece and The King’s Foundation aims to establish a formal framework for cooperation in the fields of traditional craftsmanship and the arts, with a focus on the exchange of expertise, the joint development of initiatives, and the creation of mechanisms to promote handmade creation in Greece and abroad.
This initiative seeks to highlight craftsmanship as a key element of our cultural identity and its connection with modern practices while strengthening the relationship of younger generations with their cultural heritage. At the same time, it helps to promote Greece and the United Kingdom as centers of culture and creativity.
The Crafting Greece Task Force operates under the supervision of the General Secretariat for Greeks Abroad and Public Diplomacy. Its mission is to promote Greek handmade creation through collaborations with international organizations, creators, and institutions. The King’s Foundation works to build sustainable communities and transform lives through practical education programs and regeneration projects. Through this work the charity is dedicated to preserving and reviving traditional arts and craftsmanship in the United Kingdom and internationally.
This partnership lays the foundation for a fruitful exchange of knowledge and experience, with the sustainable development of handmade art and its connection to the modern creative economy as a shared vision.
