Minister of Foreign Affairs George Gerapetritis’ statement to ERT TV and journalist Pierros Tzanetakos, during his visit to Libya (Tripoli, 15.07.2025)

Following my visit to Benghazi last week, our round of contacts in Libya is concluded with today’s visit to Tripoli. During the visit I had meetings with the President of the Presidential Council, the Prime Minister, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs.

The discussions were particularly productive and we jointly decided to put back on track the major issues of mutual concern, namely migration, bilateral trade, and, of course, the delimitation of maritime zones between the two countries.

A strong, unified, and self-reliant Libya, working closely with Greece, serves as a guarantee of security and prosperity in the wider region.
