The Hellenic Diplomatic Academy (HDA), jointly with the Spanish Diplomatic Academy "Escuela Diplomática (ED)", organised an online event on Wednesday, 18 February, within the framework of the Memorandum of Cooperation signed in 2022, aiming at further strengthening their collaboration.
The event began with brief remarks by the Directors of the HDA and the ED, Ambassador Michael Diamessis and Ambassador Cecilia Robles Cartes, respectively. The event continued with thematic presentations by officials from the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Greece and Spain, focusing on key issues in contemporary international politics.
Specifically, from the Greek side, the presentations focused on the Balkans and the southeastern Mediterranean, while from the Spanish side, the presentations addressed the Sahel region, as well as the European Union's relations with Latin American and Caribbean countries. A fruitful discussion followed, with questions and interventions from the candidate Embassy Attachés of both Academies.
The event concluded with closing remarks by the HDA Director of Studies, Ambassador Michail Angelopoulos, and his Spanish counterpart, Carlos Alfonso Abella y de Arístegui, who, among other things, emphasized the importance of further developing joint actions and initiatives.
