Participation of the Hellenic Diplomatic Academy in the conference inForum:

The Hellenic Diplomatic Academy (HDA) participated in the two-day conference of inForum: "Brain Retain & Regain", held on 2–3 June 2025, at the Library of the Hellenic Parliament (former Public Tobacco Factory).

As part of the conference, the HDA was present with a stand, offering visitors the opportunity to be informed about career opportunities at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as well as about HDA’s educational activities.

On the second day of the conference, ΗDA Director, Ambassador Michael Diamessis, took part in a panel discussion entitled "Diplomats in the 21st century – Challenges and managing the country’s image". During his remarks, he referred to the opportunities and challenges of modern diplomacy, the pivotal role of diplomats in promoting the country internationally, and the importance of adaptability as an essential skill for responding to the demands of the international environment. He also referred to the modernization of the entry exams to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, with the integration of psychometric assessment tools, and shared personal experiences from his diplomatic career. The panel also included Mr. Konstantinos Vassiliadis, Embassy Attaché, and Mr. Konstantinos Kourtelis, Candidate Embassy Attaché of the 29th Promotion of the HDA, who brought forward the perspective of the new generation of diplomats.

On the first day of the conference, Minister for Foreign Affairs, George Gerapetritis, participated in a panel discussion entitled: "How brain drain can become brain regain – The activities of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs."
