The licensing procedures required by the competent Greek authorities for the conduct of survey and cable-laying operations in the framework of the Greece–Cyprus Electricity Interconnection project (GSI) have been completed, following a relevant application submitted by the French company NEXANS on behalf of GSI, the project owner.
More specifically, following a favourable opinion issued by the competent interministerial Committee for the Granting of Marine Survey Permits, the Minister of Foreign Affairs issued the relevant decision today, November 6, 2026, authorising the survey and cable-laying operations. Subsequently, the survey vessel submitted a request for the issuance of the required navigational warning (NAVTEX) for the conduct of these operations, which was issued immediately.
