Enterprise Greece and the Montenegrin Investment Agency sign a Memorandum of Cooperation (9 October 2024)

In the context of the Business Forum titled “Greece – Montenegro, Business & Investment Opportunities - Networking,” held on Wednesday, 9 October 2024, by the Athens Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI) and Enterprise Greece, in collaboration with the Chamber of Economy of Montenegro, Enterprise Greece and the Montenegrin Investment Agency signed a Memorandum of Cooperation.

Enterprise Greece was represented by the Secretary General for International Economic Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and president of the organisation, Dimitris Skalkos. Referring to the Memorandum of Understanding, Mr. Skalkos stressed Greece’s support for Montenegro’s European course and the importance attached to strengthening cooperation with the neighbouring country. He also highlighted Greece's role as a pillar of stability in the region, recalling our country's participation in the Stabilisation and Association Process (SAP) – in other words, the EU's policy on the Western Balkan countries – as well as its action in the Adriatic and Ionian Initiative (AII), which Greece is chairing from 1 June 2024 to 31 May 2025.

The Secretary General for International Economic Affairs and president of Enterprise Greece noted Greece’s will to provide know-how, economic synergies and cooperation in areas such as taxation, public contracts, sustainable development in waste management, and in environmental protection, public administration, education and tourism. Finally, he underscored the Greek government’s priorities for strengthening and expanding bilateral trade, as well as the experience acquired by Greek companies during their operations both at home and abroad.
