Foreign Minister Droutsas sends his condolences at the explosion at Moscow’s Domodedovo international airport

Foreign Minister Dimitris Droutsas sent a telegram to his Russian counterpart, Mr. Sergey Lavrov, regarding yesterday’s explosion at Moscow’s Domodedovo international airport, which, according to initial estimates from the Russian Ministry of Civil Defense, Emergencies, & Natural Disasters, was caused by the detonation of an explosive device in the baggage claim area and left dozens of people dead and at least 130 injured.

In his message, Mr. Droutsas stated that the Greek government unequivocally condemns this atrocity, expressing his dismay at the loss of so many human lives and his condolences to the families of the victims. “The Greek people are standing by the Russian people in these difficult hours,” Mr. Droutsas said, stressing Greece’s support for the Russian authorities in their efforts to identify the instigators and bring them to justice.
