I came to Skopje today, to the SEECP Summit, conveying a message of peace, solidarity and friendship to all the countries of Southeastern Europe.
Greece, after all, was one of the countries that advocated for the establishment of the SEECP, and it was also the country that, by virtue of the Thessaloniki agenda in 2003, expedited the vision of a Europe that would include all the countries of the Western Balkans.
It is important to ensure the European course of all Balkan countries and of the wider region, at a time when the challenges are extremely high, with two wars in our wider neighborhood.
Of course, as I emphasized during the Summit, this progress must be made on the basis of specific formal conditions pertaining to respect for democracy, respect for the rule of law, strict adherence to all international treaties, full compliance with all rules established in relation to the European Union, International Law, and, of course, respect for the rights of minorities.
The path to Europe should continue and Greece will be one of the countries that will stand by these countries with respect for democracy, the rule of law, and the hope that Europe will become the broader family of all states.
