Alternate Foreign Minister Nikos Chountis will be in Brussels on Tuesday, 19 May, to participate in a meeting of the EU General Affairs Council (GAC).
The GAC agenda is topped by preparations for the Riga Summit Meeting on 21 and 22 May, which will review the 2003 European Security Strategy and look at Common Security and Defence Policy (CSDP) issues; the European Security Agenda; and EU-Russian relations, with emphasis on the situation in Ukraine.
The Ministers will also be briefed on the course of the negotiations on the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP) and the European Semester process. Guidelines will also be given on the implementation of the Digital Single Market, and there will be a discussion of the roadmap for combating terrorism.
Finally, there will be an exchange of views on the course of the Migration Roadmap as determined at the Special Meeting of the European Council on 23 April, as well as on the Migration Agenda, which was presented by the competent Commissioner last week.
