Alternate Foreign Minister Euclid Tsakalotos received the Romanian Ambassador to Greece, Lucian Fătu, at the Foreign Ministry today. On the occasion of tomorrow’s national holiday, Mr. Fătu congratulated Mr. Tsakalotos and characterized the Revolution of 1821 as an additional historical tie between the two countries.
There was a discussion of current economic developments in Greece, Romania and the Eurozone. Mr. Tsakalotos briefed his collocutor on the positive direction in the negotiations with our European partners and expressed his optimism regarding a positive outcome.
There was also an exchange of views on bilateral economic and trade relations, while the Romanian Ambassador noted the balance of trade between the two countries, the important role played by Greek banks active in Romania, and the strong presence of Greek enterprises in his country.
