The Alternate Foreign Minister for European Affairs, Nikos Xydakis, will participate in the proceedings of the annual Ministerial Meeting of the Union for the Mediterranean, which is taking place in Barcelona on Thursday, 26 November 2015.
The agenda for the Ministerial includes issues related to youth employment and confronting joblessness, sustainable development, and issues of gender equality and the strengthening of women’s roles.
On the margins of the Ministerial, Mr. Xydakis will have bilateral meetings on the level of Ministers and officials of Algeria, Lebanon, Jordan, Israel and Tunisia, with whom he will discuss the crisis in Syria and the wider Middle East region, as well as the management of refugee flows.
