Alternate Foreign Minister Athanasia Anagnostopoulou will participate on Thursday and Friday, 23 and 24 July, in the informal meeting of EU European Affairs Ministers, in Luxembourg.

The proceedings of the informal meeting will focus on the bolstering of investments, strengthening of growth and creation of jobs (through, among other things, the European Fund for Strategic Investments), the deepening of the EU’s social dimension, the revitalization of the single market, with emphasis on the digital dimension, research and innovation, and the strengthening of the European Union’s international presence.

The Presidency is being called upon to manage immigration and asylum (based on the protection of freedoms, justice and security), the future of the EMU (based on the report of the five Presidents), EU preparations for the UN Climate Change Conference (COP21/COP11) to be held in Paris in November-December 2015, and the ongoing negotiations on the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP) agreement.
