Alternate Foreign Minister G. Katrougalos had successive meetings today, in a very positive climate, with Commissioners Pierre Moscovici and Christos Stylianides, as well as with European Commission Vice President Frans Timmermans.
The meeting with Mr. Moscovici focused on the course of the procedures for the second review, the Greek economy's growth prospects, and the dialogue on the Future of Europe, with emphasis on the democratization of economic governance.
Mr. Stylianides was very positive on issues of cooperation on programmes within his area of responsibility.
In his meeting with European Commission Vice President Timmermans, Mr. Katrougalos, having thanked Mr. Timmermans for his firm stance on the migration issue and solidarity, raised the issue of the renewal of the pilot programme for issuing visas to Turkish citizens in order to facilitate their visits to Aegean islands. Finally, there was a convergence of views on the Common European Asylum System and the revision of the Dublin Regulation.
