Alternate Minister for Foreign Affairs Miltiadis Varvitsiotis to hold a round of diplomatic contacts with his European counterparts, in view of the extraordinary meeting of the EU Foreign Affairs Council (Thursday, 13 August 2020)

Alternate Minister of Foreign Affairs M. Varvitsiotis talked by telephone with a number of his counterparts - Ministers for European Affairs today, in view of preparations for tomorrow’s extraordinary meeting of the EU Foreign Affairs Council, which he will attend, accompanying Minister of Foreign Affairs N. Dendias.

Mr. Varvitsiotis had the opportunity to brief his counterparts on current developments and Turkey's provocations in the Aegean and the Eastern Mediterranean. The Alternate Minister also relayed Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis’ message of decisiveness and respect for international legality to his European counterparts. His interlocutors conveyed messages of European solidarity and support to the Minister.
