Alternate Minister of Foreign Affairs, Miltiadis Varvitsiotis, had a meeting today with the Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Greece, Andrey Maslov, in which the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs for Economic Diplomacy and Openness, Kostas Fragogiannis, also participated.
The purpose of the meeting was to discuss both the forthcoming visit of Mr. Varvitsiotis to Moscow (November 29 and 30), and the preparation of the Prime Minister’s visit on December 8.
During his visit to the Russian capital, the Alternate Minister of Foreign Affairs will co-chair the 13th Greek-Russian Joint Interministerial Committee, and will meet with Russian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Alexander Grushko.
During the meeting, the historical ties between Greece and Russia were confirmed, as well as the willingness for further cooperation in a number of sectors, such as investment, energy, transport, tourism and interregional cooperation.
