Alternate Minister of Foreign Affairs Miltiadis Varvitsiotis meets with France's Minister Delegate for Transport Clément Beaune (Athens, 08.05.2023)

"The relations between Greece and France are historic, and they have grown stronger than ever before through systematic work. Our cooperation is constantly expanding in more and more areas".  This was emphasized by Alternate Minister of Foreign Affairs for European Affairs Miltiadis Varvitsiotis, following his meeting today at the Foreign Ministry with French Minister Delegate for Transport Clément Beaune, who is visiting Athens.

Mr. Varvitsiotis described Clément Beaune, former Minister for European Affairs, as a steadfast friend of Greece. He underlined that "in recent years, we have worked closely together in Brussels for a better Europe.  In the General Affairs Councils, we fought all of the challenges, including the pandemic, the energy crisis, and the economy. We also worked excellently together during Greece's Presidency of the Council of Europe and France's Presidency of the European Council."

The Alternate Minister added that he maintains close coordination with his former counterpart, in whatever position they hold, in order to further improve the excellent relations between the two countries. And he warmly thanked him for his good wishes ahead of the upcoming elections.
