Alternate Minister of Foreign Affairs Miltiadis Varvitsiotis will participate in the online meeting of the EU General Affairs Council (GAC) on Tuesday, 23 February. The GAC will focus on preparations for the upcoming meeting of the European Council on 25 and 26 February, the agenda for which includes the current situation of the COVID-19 pandemic, progress in the EU’s vaccine rollout, the Greek proposal for a European vaccination certificate, EU security and defence policy issues, and relations with the ‘Southern Neighbourhood’. The video conference of European Affairs Ministers, which will start at 10:30 Greek time, will also look at the European Action Plan for Democracy, the Conference on the Future of Europe, and EU-UK relations.
Also on Tuesday, 23 February, the Alternate Minister of Foreign Affairs will speak in the “Engaging & Attracting Digital Migrants” roundtable at the “Greece: Competing for Global Talent” conference, which is being hosted online by the Delphi Economic Forum.
