Alternate Minister of Foreign Affairs Sia Anagnostopoulou to attend meeting of EU General Affairs Council (Luxembourg, 09 April 2019)

Alternate Minister of Foreign Affairs Sia Anagnostopoulou will participate, on Tuesday 9 April, in the EU General Affairs Council (GAC) on the recent developments related to BREXIT, which will be held in Luxembourg. More specifically, the Ministers for European Affairs will work together in light of the extraordinary European Council which will be held in Brussels on Wednesday, 10 April.

Subsequently, talks will be held on the multi-annual financial framework (2021-2027), while the conclusions of the European Commission’s reflection paper entitled “Towards a sustainable Europe by 2030” are expected to be approved. In accordance with Article 7, paragraph 1 of the Treaty on European Union (TEU), the Ministers will discuss the state of the rule of law in Poland and respect of EU values in Hungary. During the working luncheon, the Ministers for European Affairs will focus on the upcoming European Parliament elections.

Following the conclusion of the proceedings of the GAC, the Alternate Minister of Foreign Affairs will travel to Brussels to attend the extraordinary European Council meeting.
