By decision of Foreign Minister Nikos Kotzias, Ambassador at large Nikolaos Vamvounakis was appointed Director General of the Foreign Ministry’s International Development Cooperation Service.
At Ambassador Vamvounakis’s appointment ceremony, Foreign Minister Kotzias stated, among other things, that the appointment to the post of Director General of the International Development Cooperation Service of a public official who in the past criticized the manner in which the International Development Cooperation Service operated sends a message of transparency and meritocracy, while also pointing up the government’s will to shed light on the pending audit of older programmes and to upgrade the operation and role of the International Development Cooperation Service.
