Deputy Foreign Minister Ioannis Amanatidis was today received by Archbishop Hieronymos of Athens.
Following the meeting, Mr. Amanatidis made the following statement:
“Meeting with His Beatitude is always an opportunity to draw on his invaluable experience and social perspective. Today, we had the opportunity to discuss the important joint actions being developed by the Church and the State with regard to the refugee issue, as well as the assistance of the Church of Greece in the interfaith dialogue, following the International Conference held in Athens on the initiative of Foreign Minister Kotzias.
His Beatitude, with his desire to make peace and his spirit of reconciliation, is an emblematic figure in the interfaith dialogue, which is of vital importance for peaceful coexistence in today’s societies.”
