Deputy FM Gerontopoulos meets with the President of the World Hellenic Inter-Parliamentary Association, J. Pandazopoulos

Deputy Foreign Minister Kyriakos Gerontopoulos met at the Foreign Ministry today with the President of the World Hellenic Inter-Parliamentary Association, John Pandazopoulos. During the meeting they discussed issues concerning Australian Hellenism and the activities of the World Hellenic Inter-Parliamentary Association, in which 213 legislators from around the world, and of Greek origin, participate.

Mr. Pandazopoulos, who was elected a Member of Parliament of Victoria,
Australia, for 22 years, briefed Mr. Gerontopoulos on the events scheduled to take place in Limnos and Australia to mark the 100th anniversary of the Battle of Gallipoli.

Mr. Gerontopoulos conferred a plaque on Mr. Pandazopoulos, who has decided to leave active politics, and thanked him for his many years of service to the Greek community of Australia, to the World Hellenic Inter-Parliamentary Association, of which he has been president for a number of years, and to Hellenism in general.
