Deputy Foreign Minister Dimitris Kourkoulas met today, at the Foreign Ministry, with the Ambassadors of the Policy and Security Committee (PSC) of the 28 member states of the European Union. Mr. Kourkoulas referred to the importance of the Common Foreign and Security Policy (CFSP) and the Common Security and Defence Policy (CSDP), particularly today, when fluidity and instability are dominating our neighbourhood.
He also underscored Greece’s contribution to the common European effort in the sector of security and defence, stressing that our country remains a pole of stability in the region of the Eastern Mediterranean and Southeast Europe.
Mr. Kourkoulas referred to the new energy prospects in the wider region, the ongoing Turkish provocations through violations of Greek airspace and territorial waters, and the situation in Syria and Libya.
In the context of the priorities of the Hellenic Presidency, Mr. Kourkoulas underscored the importance of the European Maritime Security Policy that is to be adopted at the June European Council.
