Deputy Foreign Minister Dimitris Mardas met at the Foreign Ministry today with Bangladesh’s Ambassador to Athens, Jashim Uddin. The meeting, which took place in an excellent atmosphere, focused on issues of common interest, with emphasis on further expansion and strengthening of the bilateral cooperation between the two countries.
Reference was also made to the shared values that unite the two countries, such as heightened awareness of the repercussions of climate change, and they agreed that the next political consultations will provide the opportunity for a detailed review of the course of bilateral relations, with a focus on deepening cooperation in the sectors of economy, technology and trade.
With regard to business cooperation, Mr. Mardas referred to the participation of Greek construction firms in infrastructure projects in Bangladesh as a springboard for strengthening investment flows between the two countries. Ambassador Uddin stressed that Bangladesh’s Embassy in Athens wants to contribute in this direction, increasing communication and the exchange of information between the competent state agencies and enterprises of the two countries.
