Deputy FM Tsakalotos meets with Albanian Ambassador Dashnor Dervishi

Alternate Foreign Minister Euclid Tsakalotos received the Albanian Ambassador to Athens, Dashnor Dervishi, at the Foreign Ministry today and discussed ways to further improve the already good bilateral relations between the two countries.

Mr. Dervishi characterized Greece as a strategic partner and neighbouring country of vital importance for Albania. Mr. Tsakalotos noted that international economic relations are now a priority for Greece, making the reminder that Greece has long been the most important investor in Albania, and proposing new sectors for bilateral cooperation.

Finally, Mr. Tsakalotos briefed his collocutor on the course of Greece’s negotiations with its partners in the European Union and expressed his conviction that the negotiations will bring a positive result, not just for Greece, but for the wider region, including Albania.
