Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs for Diaspora Greeks Antonis Diamataris meets with the president of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation, Andreas Dracopoulos (29 August 2019)

The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs for Diaspora Greeks, Antonis Diamataris, characterized his meeting on 29 August in his office with the president of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation, Andreas Dracopoulos, as being “of very great importance.”

“As you know, Mr. Dracopoulos is a diaspora Greek who lives in New York most of the time, and his activities in support of the diaspora community and Greece are historically unprecedented. The president of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation and I discussed his actions and plans in Greece, on the one hand, and, on the other hand, and in greater detail, issues of concern to the Greek community in New York,” Mr. Diamataris said.

The president of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation underscored his willingness to discuss any serious initiative of general interest that is presented to him, with particular emphasis on issues concerning the Greek community of New York.

Mr. Dracopoulos also said he attaches special importance to the difficult mission the Deputy Minister has undertaken, wishing him success in his work.
