Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Antonis Diamataris is carrying out a visit to the USA and Canada.
The Deputy Minister will start his visit in Washington, where he will speak at the two-day “South East Europe & East Med” conference.
He will then travel to Montreal, where he will meet with the Board of the Hellenic Congress of Quebec and members of the Board of Directors of the Greek Community.
He will also speak at an event being hosted jointly by the Consulate General and the Greek Community of Montreal, and he will meet with city council members of Greek origin and carry out a one-day visit to the Greek Community’s trilingual elementary schools.
He will then travel to Toronto, where he will meet with Archbishop Sotirios, have meetings with MPs of Greek decent, and visit the Consulate General and the Polymenakio Cultural Centre, where he will meet with the Board of Directors of the Greek community of Toronto.
Finally, Mr. Diamataris will travel to New York to participate in an open debate on diaspora issues at the Consulate General. He will also meet with educational organizations and visit New York University, where he will meet with the university’s provost, Katherine Fleming, who is the Alexander S. Onassis Professor of Hellenic Culture and Civilization.
