Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Konstantinos Vlasis holds video conference with Heads of Consular Missions (15 April 2020)

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Konstantinos Vlasis held a video conference today with the heads of fifteen Consular Missions around the world to discuss the repercussions of the Coronavirus pandemic in regions where large Greek diaspora communities reside.

The Deputy Minister emphasised the need to maintain the Consular Missions’ contact and cooperation with diaspora organizations and the Church in order to provide all possible assistance and support for diaspora Greeks. In this context, ways were sought to promote interaction with the diaspora community for the duration of the restrictions that are in effect to protect public health.

The Deputy Minister intends to hold similar video conferences with other Consular Missions in order to ensure optimum coordination between the Foreign Ministry’s political leadership and personnel.
