Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Kostas Vlasis today received His Eminence Archbishop Damianos of Sinai, Pharan and Raitho at his office.
The Deputy Minister reiterated the Greek government’s support for St. Catherine’s Monastery in Sinai and welcomed the important work being carried out by the Sinai fathers, in spite of the difficulties they are facing, especially now, due to the pandemic. In this context they discussed ways in which the Ministry of Foreign Affairs can assist the Monastery.
The Archbishop thanked the Deputy Ministry for the Greek government's ongoing interest and practical support, stressing the importance of the Monastery’s continuing its work to safeguard Greek Orthodox tradition in Sinai.
