Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Konstantinos Vlasis meets with the Ukrainian Ambassador (Athens, 26 February 2020)

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Konstantinos Vlasis today met, in his office, with the Ukrainian Ambassador to Greece, Sergii Shutenko.

The Ukrainian Ambassador referred to the excellent relations between the two countries, underscoring the potential for further development and strengthening of bilateral cooperation in all sectors of mutual interest. Mr. Shutenko highlighted the significant number of Greeks residing in Ukraine and the strong interest in Greek language and culture.

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Vlasis referred to the close ties between the two countries, emphasising the strong presence of the Greek element in Ukraine. The Deputy Minister pointed to the importance of the teaching of the Greek language in schools and universities abroad, made special mention of the Greek communities of Mariupol and Odessa, and informed the Ukrainian Ambassador that he is planning to visit Ukraine in the coming time.
