Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Konstantinos Vlasis talked by telephone today with Greek American Michael Dukakis to congratulate him on being made Grand Commander of the Order of Honour by the President of the Hellenic Republic, Katerina Sakellaropoulou.
Mr. Dukakis is a prominent figure on the American political stage. He was the longest-serving Governor in the history of Massachusetts and the Democratic Party’s candidate for the U.S. Presidency in 1988.
He participates actively in U.S. political and social affairs, as well as in organizations of the Greek American community, philanthropic organizations, social and educational initiatives, and organization of the Boston Marathon, always promoting its Greek identity.
