Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Kostas Fragogiannis to visit Qatar (Doha, 13-15 December 2019)

The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs for Economic Diplomacy, Kostas Fragogiannis, will travel to Doha to address the Doha Forum panel titled “A Look Ahead at Investment in 2020.”

This panel will look into the big macroeconomic themes likely to dominate in the year ahead and examine where the biggest risks to the global economy are lurking for investment in 2020.

Joining the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs on the panel are:
●    Mr. Bertrand Badré CEO and founder of Blue like an Orange Sustainable Capital
●    Lord Peter Benjamin Mandelson, President of Global Counsel
●    Ms. Isabelle Mateos y Lago, Managing Director, Blackrock
●    Mr. Mark Barton, journalist

During his two-day stay in the capital of Qatar, Mr. Fragogiannis will meet with government ministers and officials.

The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs will also meet with the country’s business organizations to explore opportunities for Greek investments in Qatar, given the investments in infrastructure the government is planning ahead of the country’s hosting of the 2022 World Cup.

The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs will be accompanied by Enterprise Greece officials. The Deputy Minister’s working dossier includes investment projects in the   energy, tourism and food sectors, which are the most mature for promotion in the Qatari market, along with the overall details of these projects, including their size and budget and how far along they are in terms of licensing and implementation timeframe.
