Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Tasos Chatzivasileiou’s visit with business mission to Ukraine (Kiev, 1-2.06.2025)

The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs responsible for Economic Diplomacy and Extroversion, Tasos Chatzivasileiou, conducted a visit to Kyiv on 1–2 June 2025, accompanied by the Secretary General for International Economic Affairs and Extroversion, Dimitris Skalkos, leading a business mission of prominent Greek companies.

On Monday, June 2, Mr. Chatzivasileiou addressed the 1st Greek-Ukrainian Business Forum held after the Russian invasion. The Deputy Minister reaffirmed Greece’s unwavering support for Ukraine in its defense against aggression. He expressed Greece’s readiness to actively participate in the reconstruction of the war-torn country’s critical infrastructure, particularly in the sectors of health, energy, and transport. He emphasized that Ukraine’s reconstruction can yield mutual benefits and serve as a global model of sustainable recovery.

The Forum, organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Enterprise Greece, in cooperation with the Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the European Business Association, and the American Chamber of Commerce, was attended by senior executives from companies operating in energy, networks, security, construction, and infrastructure.

On the sidelines of the Forum, Mr. Chatzivasileiou held meetings with Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Yevhen Perebyinis, Deputy Minister for Development of Communities and Territories, Maryna Denysiuk, and Deputy Minister of Energy, Roman Andarak, with whom he discussed the prospects for Greek companies' participation in Ukraine’s reconstruction process.

In addition, Mr. Chatzivasileiou met with Ukrainian Deputy Minister of Health, Edem Adamanov, to discuss the development and reconstruction needs of Ukraine’s hospitals. During the meeting, the two Deputy Ministers signed a Memorandum of Cooperation between Greece and Ukraine, establishing a framework for future bilateral agreements and arrangements in the health sector.
