Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Venizelos meets with Israeli Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman, on the margins of the 69th UN General Assembly (New York, 28 September 2014)

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Evangelos Venizelos wound up his meetings in New York, on the margins of the 69th UN General Assembly, with his meeting today with Israeli Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman.

Messrs. Venizelos and Lieberman had constructive and wide-ranging talks, during which they had the opportunity to look at the whole spectrum of bilateral cooperation and Greek-Israeli political and economic relations.

Specifically, they discussed the issue of the upcoming Greek-Israeli political consultations, on the level of Foreign Ministry Secretaries General, in November, and they agreed to hold the next High-Level Intergovernmental Cooperation Council in 2015, in Athens, on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the conclusion of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

Finally, Messrs. Venizelos and Lieberman discussed the latest developments in the Middle East and the wider region, as well as the prospects for energy cooperation opening up on a bilateral level, between Greece and Israel, as well as trilaterally, together with Cyprus.
