Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Evangelos Venizelos met today with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Tunisia, Mongi Hamdi, on the margins of the EU-Arab League Ministerial Meeting.
In a follow-up to Mr. Venizelos’ talks with Tunisian President Moncef Marzouki in Brussels, on the margins of the 4th EU-Africa Summit, new steps were decided on for the new meeting of the Joint Interministerial Committee and the organization of a meeting, in Athens, between the two countries’ business communities, which will focus on Tunisian development priorities and investment opportunities.
Mr. Hamdi also extended an invitation to Mr. Venizelos to participate in the Forum to be held in Tunisia from 7 to 9 September, on a French initiative, for the formation of a “Marshall Plan” for the region.
