Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Evangelos Venizelos today met with the Foreign Minister of Algeria, Ramtane Lamamra, on the margins of the EU-Arab League Ministerial Meeting, at Zappeion.
After the meeting, Mr. Venizelos made the following statement:
“For us, Algeria is a point of reference, a pillar of stability for the region, and that is why it is our strategic choice to improve this relationship. And I would like to thank my Algerian counterpart for inviting me to visit Algeria this coming October. I am ready to carry out this visit, not by myself, but accompanied by a delegation of Greek entrepreneurs, as it is our choice to facilitate and promote our cooperation in the economic and financial sectors, and not just in the political sector.”
