“The brutal murder of American citizen Peter Kassig and members of the Syrian armed forces by the jihadists of the so-called Islamic State is yet another of this terrorist organization’s heinous crimes.
We express our condolences to and support for the families of the victims, and our solidarity with the communities and populations of the wider region that are suffering under the barbaric and unprecedented regime of the Islamic State.
At the same time, we call on all of the members of the international community, and particularly the wider region, to actively join the global campaign against terrorism and the Islamic State, so that the perpetrators of these heinous crimes can be brought to justice and cease to constitute a threat to the security and prosperity of the residents of the wider region.”
