Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Evangelos Venizelos will be in Milan on Friday and Saturday, 29 and 30 August, to attend the two-day Informal “Gymnich” Meeting of EU member-state Foreign Ministers.
On Friday, 29 August, the Foreign Ministers will consider the outlook for the Middle East peace process in light of the ceasefire achieved recently in the Gaza Strip. They will also discuss the course of the Eastern Partnership, with emphasis on the situation in Ukraine and EU-Russia relations.
On Saturday, 30 August, the Foreign Ministers will look at Southern Neighbourhood issues, with emphasis on the turmoil in Libya, Syria and Iraq.
