Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Evangelos Venizelos will participate in the meeting of the EU Foreign Affairs Council (FAC) on 17 November 2014, in Brussels.
The FAC proceedings will begin with a working breakfast, hosted by EU High Representative Federica Mogherini. Discussion will focus on ways to improve the functioning of the Foreign Affairs Council.
The FAC agenda is topped by the Ukraine issue. The Council will look at political developments, the situation on the ground and the course of the implementation of the Minsk ceasefire, and conclusions will be adopted.
The luncheon will focus on the course of the Middle East peace process, the situation in Gaza and East Jerusalem, and the role of the EU and European missions in the region, within the framework of Common Security and Defence Policy.
At the afternoon session there will be a discussion of the situation in Bosnia-Herzegovina and in Libya, and Commissioner Stylianides will brief the Council on the course of the Ebola epidemic and ways for the EU to contribute to confronting the epidemic.
