Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Evangelos Venizelos will be in Luxembourg on Monday, 20 October, to attend the EU Foreign Affairs Council (FAC).
The FAC agenda includes the coordination of member states on confronting the Ebola epidemic; the security situation in Ukraine and the full implementation of the Minsk ceasefire; and developments in Iraq and Syria, in the shadow if ISIS activities.
There will also be a discussion of the situation in Libya, with the UN Secretary General’s Special Representative in Libya, Bernardino Leon, in attendance, as well as of the prospects for the reopening of the Middle East peace talks.
Finally, Mr. Venizelos will attend a dinner being hosted by the Italian Presidency of the Council of the European Union in honor of the EU’s outgoing High Representative for Foreign and Security Policy, Catherine Ashton.
