Foreign Minister Kotzias’ programme for 22-26 June – Participation in meetings of the EU Foreign and General Affairs Councils – Tour of Western Balkan countries

Foreign Minister Nikos Kotzias will participate on Monday, 22 June, in a meeting of the EU Foreign Affairs Council, which will take place in Luxembourg and focus on Asian issues. In this context, the FAC will adopt conclusions on EU-ASEAN relations, the upcoming elections in Myanmar, and Europe’s Central Asia strategy.

Energy diplomacy issues will also be discussed, and the working luncheon, which will be attended by the UN Secretary General, will look at EU-UN cooperation on crisis management, with emphasis on countries such as Libya, Yemen and Syria.

Finally, during the afternoon session there will be an exchange of views on the developments in FYROM.

On Tuesday, 23 June, Mr. Kotzias will participate in a meeting of the EU General Affairs Council. The main issue on the agenda is preparations for the Summit Meeting on 25 and 26 June 2015, while conclusions are to be adopted on the situation in FYROM.

From 24 to 26 June, Mr. Kotzias will carry out visits to the capitals of the countries of the Western Balkans (Skopje, 24 June; Belgrade, 26 June; Podgorica, 26 June). A detailed itinerary for these visits will be forthcoming.
