Foreign Ministry actions for ensuring unhindered access for Greek products to the Russian market

On the instructions of Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Evangelos Venizelos, the Foreign Ministry’s Secretary General for International Economic Relations, Panagiotis Mihalos, met on Friday, 1 August, with the Russian Ambassador to Greece, Andrey Maslov, for a briefing on the matter of the possible imposition of a temporary ban on the importation of Greek agricultural products into Russia. On Mr. Venizelos’ instructions, corresponding meetings were held by the Greek Ambassador to Russia, Danai-Magdalini Koumanakou, with Russian officials.

During these meetings, assurances were received from the Russian side that the unhindered access of Greek agricultural products to the Russian market will not be disrupted.
