We unequivocally condemn last night’s arson attack on a Palestinian residence in the West Bank village of Duma, which led to the tragic death of an infant. This is a criminal act that highlights the tragically senseless actions of fanaticism and religious intolerance.
We express our sincere condolences to the family of the victim of this abhorrent attack, the perpetrators of which must be apprehended and brought to justice by the Israeli Authorities who hastened to condemn the attack.
This human tragedy clearly points to the fact that, today more than ever before, we need to intensify the efforts to create the necessary climate of trust that will lead to the reopening of the negotiation process for the resolution of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
