Today marks the 16th anniversary of the tragic and untimely loss of Giannos Kranidiotis, a distinguished diplomat, academic and politician who served the interests of Hellenism with vision and a sense of responsibility, contributing decisively to the accession of the Republic of Cyprus to the European Union.
In a difficult state of affairs for Greece and Hellenism in general, and in the midst of the continuing negotiations for a just and viable solution to the Cyprus problem – a solution that must take into account the given conditions created by the Republic of Cyprus’s membership in the European Union – we once again feel the void left by the untimely death of Giannos Kranidiotis and we respectfully honor his political and diplomatic legacy.
