Foreign Ministry announcement on the activation of the EU-Serbia Stabilisation and Association Agreement

The EU-Serbia Stabilisation and Association Agreement’s going into effect on 1 September 2013 attests to the ongoing strengthening and deepening of EU-Serbian relations based on a broad contractual framework that contributes to the promotion of Serbia’s accession course, the enhancement of EU-Serbian economic relations, and the strengthening in the wider Western Balkan region of the principles and values of the European Union, including those of good neighbourly relations and regional cooperation.

Greece is a longstanding and firm supporter of Serbia’s European course, and, as the President of the Council in the first half of 2014, will pursue the support and acceleration of its friend Serbia’s accession efforts.
