During a demonstration of students from Italian schools in Bologna today, 5 October 2012, a group of demonstrators took down the Greek flag at the Greek Honorary Consulate.
As soon as the incident was reported, the Honorary Consul and the Greek Embassy in Rome contacted the Italian police and requested a full investigation of the case and the tracking down of the flag and those responsible, as well as protection for Greek missions and symbols.
The Greek Embassy in Italy is monitoring developments in the case and is in ongoing contact with the local authorities.
