The Foreign Ministry mourns the unexpected loss of Dimitris Zomas, Economic and Commercial Affairs First Counselor.
Dimitris Zomas served as Economic and Commercial Counselor in Paris, Geneva, Damascus and Sofia, and at Greece’s Permanent Representation in Brussels. At the Central Service for the past three years, he was one of the main associates of Deputy Foreign Minister Kourkoulas.
In addition to being a fully trained public administration executive who honored his country to the utmost, wherever he served, he was a person of rare ethos; a model and source of inspiration for all those who had the good fortune to know him and who today cannot believe the news of his sudden passing.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Evangelos Venizelos, Deputy Foreign Minister Dimitris Kourkoulas, Deputy Foreign Minister Kyriakos Gerontopoulos, all of the leadership of the Foreign Ministry and all colleagues express deep condolences to his beloved wife and children.
