Greece welcomes the recent decision on the restoration of diplomatic relations between the U.S. and Cuba and the reciprocal opening of diplomatic missions, a development that constitutes an historic step in the normalization of the relations between the two countries.
We express the hope that the new page in the two countries’ relations will contribute substantially to the consolidation of the sense of security in the Caribbean and impart momentum to cooperation between all the countries in the region, sending in parallel a message regarding the potential for peaceful and mutually beneficial settlement of disputes in other tense areas around the world.
